A local delivery can only move as quickly as the pickup is ready. A missing name, an unreleased order, or an item that will not fit in the planned vehicle can turn a simple errand into a delay.
Use this checklist before sending a driver to the store.
Confirm that the order is ready for release
An order confirmation is not always a pickup confirmation. Wait for the store to say the order is ready, then check its pickup hours and location. Large retailers may have separate counters for groceries, pharmacy items, building materials, or online orders.
Ask whether another person can collect the order. If the store requires an authorized pickup person, add the correct name before the driver arrives. Do not assume a screenshot of the receipt is sufficient.
Describe what is being collected
Share the number of bags, boxes, or pieces and any known dimensions or weight. Mention fragile, temperature-sensitive, or awkward items. If a product must remain upright or should not be placed with groceries, say so.
The delivery provider still needs to confirm that the request fits the service, vehicle, and safe-handling limits. If the order contains a restricted item, prescription, age-controlled product, or anything requiring the purchaser’s personal identification, contact the store and ArcDev before scheduling. Some pickups may not be eligible.
Prepare the destination
Provide the complete Ocean Shores delivery address, the recipient’s name and phone number, and the preferred handoff. For vacation rentals or gated properties, share only the access information needed for that delivery. If nobody can receive the order, confirm in advance whether a safe drop-off is permitted and appropriate for the items.
If the destination is a jobsite or business, identify the entrance, loading area, and on-site contact. A street address alone may not tell a driver where the order belongs.
Keep one person reachable
Choose one contact who can answer questions during pickup and delivery. If the store substitutes, delays, or cannot find an item, a quick response can keep the run moving. If nobody is reachable, the driver may need to wait, skip an item, or reschedule according to the agreed service terms.
Before booking, review ArcDev’s rates, local delivery information, and contact options. A ready order and a clear handoff make local delivery simpler for the store, the driver, and the person waiting in Ocean Shores.
